Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights under UK GDPR.
Last updated: November 2026
1. Who we are
sitelikeuk is operated by sitelikeuk Ltd (company number 12345678), registered at London, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through ledgerbet.uk. Contact: hello@ledgerbet.uk.
2. Data we collect
If you subscribe to the Weekly Index we collect your email address. If you email us we collect the address you write from and the contents of your message. If you visit the site we collect anonymous traffic data — page, referrer, country, device type — through a privacy-respecting analytics tool.
3. Why we collect it
Email addresses are used solely to send the Weekly Index, with an unsubscribe link in every issue. Email correspondence is used to reply to your message and is retained as long as needed to handle the conversation. Anonymous traffic data is used to understand which content readers find useful.
4. Legal basis
Newsletter signups rely on your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ in any issue. Email replies and analytics rely on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating the site and corresponding with readers.
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. Newsletter delivery is handled by an email service provider acting as our processor under a written agreement. Analytics is processed by a UK or EU-based provider that does not set advertising cookies.
6. Retention
Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days for technical clean-up. Email correspondence: up to 24 months from last contact. Analytics data: aggregated only after 14 months.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, and object to our processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ledgerbet.uk; we respond within one calendar month.
8. International transfers
We aim to use UK or EEA-based service providers wherever possible. Where a service provider transfers personal data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
9. Changes to this policy
Material changes to this policy are flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days and noted in the methodology changelog. The ‘last updated’ date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
