How we make money.
sitelikeuk earns affiliate commission when readers sign up to certain casinos via tracked links. Here is exactly how that works, and why it can’t influence the scores you see.
How we make money
When you sign up to a UKGC-licensed casino through a link on sitelikeuk, the operator may pay us a one-time commission. Commission is paid per qualifying signup, never per deposit, never as a percentage of your losses, and never as an ongoing revenue share that depends on your behaviour.
Not every operator on sitelikeuk pays us anything. Where there is no affiliate relationship, the review still appears, ranked by its score on the four pillars, and the link goes directly to the casino without a tracking layer.
Why this doesn’t affect our reviews
The commission rate is fixed per operator and is not negotiated up or down based on coverage. We don’t run rate-card auctions, we don’t accept “paid placement,” and we don’t promise improved scoring in exchange for a higher payout.
A casino can score 9.2 or it can score 3.1; the per-signup commission paid to sitelikeuk is identical.
Every review is written and signed by an editor before any affiliate link is added. Affiliate links are inserted at publish-time using the same template, and they never alter the score, the ranking, the wording, or the order of casinos in any list on the site.
If a casino with whom we have an affiliate relationship publishes something we’d score badly — a quietly added wagering requirement, a removed payment method, an enforcement action — the review is downgraded the same week it would be downgraded for a casino we earn nothing from.
How to identify affiliate links on this site
Every affiliate link on sitelikeuk is identifiable in three ways:
- The link target uses our redirect domain. You can see it in your browser’s status bar before you click.
- The CTA button is labelled “Visit casino” rather than “Read more” or “About this casino.”
- The HTML
relattribute on every affiliate link includessponsoredas well asnoopener, in line with Google’s published guidance.
The redirect URL pattern is:
ledgerbet.uk/go/{casino-slug}
Our editorial firewall
There are two editors at sitelikeuk. Neither has any commercial responsibility. There is no business-development team, no sales team, and no commercial director — because sitelikeuk is small enough that splitting those functions out would be theatre rather than structure.
What there is: a published methodology, a version history that logs every change to that methodology, and a corrections inbox monitored daily. If our affiliate model ever started to bend the scores, the methodology version history would show it. That’s the structural protection.
If you ever spot a discrepancy between a casino’s score and what its affiliate relationship with us suggests it “should” be, please tell us. The corrections inbox is the most-watched address on the site.
